About The Founders

Corey Ashton Walters, Founder & CEO

Prior to founding Homeworthy, Corey Ashton Walters, a seasoned entrepreneur, brand builder, and college dropout, has founded multiple successful companies since the age of 15. These companies include LURK, a cult followed streetwear brand that he grew to tens of thousands of customers. Later he founded SEVEN40, a boutique brand identity, marketing, and advertising agency servicing Fortune 500 companies such as Formula One, Grey Goose, Viacom and many more.

Tudor Bay is a technology leader with 20 years of industry experience with senior roles at companies such as Apple, AIG, and Razorfish.

One day, my wife and I were looking to move to a new neighbourhood, and began exploring the daunting idea of selling our small row house on 86th street in the New York suburbs. We looked at all of our options, like paying a traditional real estate agent 6% to sell our home. However, we wanted to save every dollar we could, so we finally settled on selling it for sale by owner (spoiler alert)… it was a terrible idea).

In our eyes, it was a great idea! Why don’t we sell it ourselves and save tens of thousands of dollars that we can put towards our next home? Boy was we in over our heads. We were pulling our hair out between juggling showings and responding to inquiries 24/7. After almost 6 months, we finally conceded defeat. There had to be a better way! It turns out there wasn’t, so we created one.

I called my friend and longtime Apple employee Tudor Bay and convinced him over ramen to join me in my quest to create a better way to sell a home. That week Homeworthy was born. The goal was to rethink the process from the ground up. The home valuation, the way you communicate with your agent, how agents are trained, the commission you pay, and the absolute minimum amount of effort needed to put forth as a homeowner.

We’re homeowners as well, and understand how stressful, expensive, and daunting selling your home can be.
