Gingercup provides a platform for brands to reach their target audience with paper cups that have the logo of the brand printed on it. This form of advertising, though unconventional, has a targeted and huge reach and one of the highest levels of interaction among all out of home advertising media.
We take communication from the brand and print it on paper cups. These paper cups are then placed in corporate offices, pantries, tech park cafeterias and food courts of corporate offices.
We also place these paper cups in the mass markets such as tea joints, bakeries, hospital cafeterias, shopping mall cafeterias and colleges. A
s a person use these cups for having a hot or cold beverage, there is a window of 5 to 7 minutes when the person is in close proximity of the brand communication.
India is a tea-drinking nation. People mostly have tea in groups and a lot of discussions happen over tea and Gingercup uses this culture to subtly create discussions during this time period of drinking tea. A lot can happen over a cup of tea, even branding!
What problems does GingerCup solve?
Our startup solve the age-long problem of brands trying to reach their target audience through outdoor media through conventional methods such as billboards, bus advertisements, posters, pamphlets, newspaper advertisements and what not!
There lies a general problem with most of these conventional media as billboards and bus advertisements are hardly targeted to a specific age group of people or salary sets.
Our small, portable, mini billboards(paper cups) take the brand directly in the hand of its target audience. As the interaction time is more than 5 minutes, owing to the fact that a person takes 5-7 minutes to finish a cup of tea on an average, high brand recall is what we guarantee our clients.
These cups are distributed to these tea stalls and corporate offices for free of cost, creating a win-win situation for both the brand and our distribution network.

Any Achievements or Milestones accomplished?
After it’s inception in 2015, Gingercup has never looked back. Working with one client after other relentlessly, Gingercup has helped brands reach their target audience achieving successive milestones along the way. With clients like OYO Rooms, Pizza Hut and Uber, Gingercup has paved its path in the niche market of advertising on Paper Cups.
To count a few, some of the milestones that Gingercup achieved would be:
- In 2016, Brigade Builders, one of the biggest builders in Southern India had 3 successive campaigns with Gingercup.
- In 2017, Gingercup started operating in more than 40 cities including tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
- In 2018, we became the branding partner for OYO rooms for branding on paper cups. We placed a whopping 50 lakh cups within strategic locations all over Bangalore which gave OYO rooms a huge brand awareness and recall.
What are your future plans?
Going further, we would like to increase awareness about branding on paper cups and about the potential this particular form of advertising has in store for brands. We strive to bring paper cup branding in convention for marketing managers and to be paramount in this form of advertising.
About The Founders
Mr Deepak Bansal studied in NIT Allahabad and worked as a software engineer in Samsung. Founding 2 startups and failing, this is his third startup. Mr Deepak Bansal strives to replace all plain white paper cups with coloured and branded paper cups which shall benefit offices and mass markets with free paper cups and provide a very unique and different form of advertising to his clients.
